About
My post production career began in the early eighties at an old school film editing house in Soho, London where I learned to edit with film and later using video edit suits. I was an on-line editor for ten years working at some of the leading post production houses in London, including The Moving Picture Company and The Mill. During this time I gained an in depth knowledge of high-end digital effects for commercials, titles sequences and music videos.
I became Senior Flame Artist at SVC Television in 1995 and as a Flame/Smoke artist my work expanded to include design based idents and stings as well as high-resolution effects compositing for feature films including Harry Potter 1,2 and 3, Black Hawk down, Babe 2, The Little Vampire, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Don Quixote and Five Seconds to Spare.
Music videos include work for Madonna, David Bowie, The Spice Girls, George Michael, Mary J Blige, Enigma, Mel-G, Massive Attack, Cliff Richard, Scissor Sisters, The Darkness, Robbie Williams and Destiny’s Child.
I have been a Flame artist for almost twenty years, fifteen of those as a freelancer working mainly in London but also in Europe, USA and Asia.
I now concentrate on on-set VFX shoot supervision and have well over two hundred successful shoots under my belt. I attend pre-production meetings to help plan shoots and give guidance for VFX productions. With my Canon 5D, I take HDRI photos and record camera data for seamless CGI integration. I am regularly used as a second unit director.
I have directed many projects myself the largest being a global commercial for Turkish Airlines. With all of my directing work the post production –editing, grading and compositing was carried out by me using Flame. As yet, I am not tied to any specific production company..
